High Country Bottling Company uses natural
spring water that originates from underground
aquifers and flow naturally to the earth’s
surface. The spring water is allowed to flow on
its own, and then captured at the source. This
water begins as snow and rain high in the
mountains and is absorbed through layers of rock
and clay reaching protected underground
aquifers. The natural force of the water causes
it to flow to the earth’s surface through a
natural orifice. The location of the spring is
identified, documented and approved by the state
of North Carolina. Our spring source is
routinely tested to ensure the highest quality
and safety standards.
High Country Bottling Company meets or exceeds
all federal and state health standards. FDA
regulates bottled water as a food product
whereas EPA regulates tap water as provided by
water utilities. Standards of quality enacted by
the FDA for bottled water must be as protective
of the public health as EPA’s standards (known
as Maximum Contaminant Levels) for tap water.
Ensuring the safety of the water is our primary
objective in providing our product to our
customers.
Bottled water products labeled as spring water,
natural water, or drinking water must come from
protected sources, and be monitored frequently.
High Country Bottling Company’s water comes from
a naturally protected and pristine source - NOT
FILTERED CITY OR TAP WATER AS MANY OF THE TOP
BRANDS! We here at High Country Bottling Company
employ a variety of practices to ensure the
safety and high quality of our products.
The recognized standard indicator of water
quality is TDS. Generally speaking the lower the
TDS, the better the quality of the water. Our
water is routinely tested from samples taken
directly from the spring source. These tests are
conducted by certified laboratories and
consistently indicate values between 15 and 25.
This indicates a higher quality than leading
premium brands such as Evian and Fiji. Sample
test results are available upon request.
Multiple stages of filtration include
particulate filtration and micron filtration to
remove any sediment or suspended particles
All of our bottled water products are ozonated.
We use ozone instead of chlorine because it has
no residual taste or odor. Ozone (is oxygen – O3
to be exact) is bubbled through the water just
before it goes into clean, sanitized bottles.
Within a few hours after the bottle has been
filled and capped, the ozone converts back to
the same form of oxygen that we breathe (O2).
